David Loong

is a TV writer who grew up between Hong Kong and the United Kingdom. He writes genre drama shows with deep world-building, specifically historical, sci-fi, fantasy, and high school. 

He was one of 32 writers selected from an application pool of over 1,000 for the Thousand Miles Project, a TV fellowship run by UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group.

Afterwards, he signed a writing deal with UCP, where he developed his hour-long pilot ‘The Englishman’ with Pachinko showrunner Soo Hugh.

In 2024, he was selected for NBCUniversal’s Launch Program, a fellowship aimed at developing the next generation of showrunners. 

He is represented by Anonymous Content and IAG, and currently staffed on an upcoming NBC Procedural.
